A Chave da Visão

"A Chave da Visão (The Key of Vision) is an image I once dreamed of and that became a template in my life. It shows two people: one with their feet turned toward the sky and the other with their feet on the ground. They hold hands, forming a rhombus where the arms draw an eye and the heads represent the iris.

This figure taught me that, to truly see, one must embrace the two polarized visions of existence, for nothing in life has only one side.

Understanding this freed me from great afflictions. Before, I tried to understand why my art and my sensitivity — such valuable things — seemed to have no strength on this plane. I asked God: 'How can I unite heaven and earth?'. I questioned this for a long time, until the dream revealed to me that I was asking the wrong question. The image told me: 'You cannot unite heaven and earth because heaven and earth were never separated.'"

The Manifested Dream

A Chave da Visão (The Key of Vision) was not born from theoretical intellectual elaboration, but from a profound dreamlike revelation that became the definitive template for the life and work of Gendozen. Through a dream, the artist visualized a geometric and sacred image that brought a visual teaching about human totality.

The image draws two complementary human figures: one walks with feet turned toward the sky, while the other keeps their feet firmly on the ground. United, they hold hands, structuring a perfect geometry in a rhombus. In this sacred drawing, the intertwining of arms draws the outline of a human eye, where the heads of both figures together represent the iris.

The Teaching: Embracing Polarities

This geometric and mystical figure taught Gendozen a universal law: to see reality truly and clearly, it is imperative to embrace the two polarized visions of existence. Nothing in life possesses only one face, one weight, or one direction.

The absolute understanding of this geometry freed the artist from deep afflictions that accompanied him for years. For a long time, Gendozen questioned the apparent lack of strength in his art and his spiritual sensitivity on this dense and objective plane. In his most intimate reflections, he asked God: "How can I unite heaven and earth?".

The answer came through the silence of the dream and the symmetry of the image, which revealed that his anguish came from a mistaken premise. The Key of Vision whispered to his subconscious the definitive truth: "You cannot unite heaven and earth because, simply, heaven and earth were never separated."

The Impact on Artistic and Literary Creation

The Key of Vision is the philosophical map that unifies all fronts of Gendozen's action. It is what explains his ability to navigate between the dense (like the more than 1,000 advertising pieces created in the studio) and the subtle (like the immaterial notes of Spontaneous Creation at the piano).

This philosophy of non-separation and the integration of opposites is the raw material of his intellectual productions, manifesting clearly in his literary publications, such as the futuristic novel Francesca and the anthology Poemas para desabar (Poems to Collapse) — where poetry and photography embrace like heaven and earth, without divisions.
